Aaron has developed a reputation over the past ten years as a zoning innovator. He is best known for being able to help municipalities make sense of their zoning and ensure it is actually accomplishing what they want it to. In particular, Aaron has developed a niche in being able to take progressive Smart Growth planning and translate that into zoning. His passion and relatability in delivering his technical expertise is widely embraced.

He is able to make zoning make sense - no small feat. He has been successful in many communities in helping them realize what is actually on their books and assisting them in taking the next step of turning their code into an easily understood, flexible, and innovative framework for future development that accomplishes the goals and policies of the community.

Aaron understands zoning from being in the trenches on the municipal side. He worked at the City of Atlanta for several years, and was instrumental in writing the Quality of Life districts that transformed Atlanta's zoning ordinance into a modern Smart Growth tool for quality development. He also wrote the Smart Growth zoning districts of the Special Public Interest Districts of Midtown, Piedmont, and Lindbergh areas of Atlanta.

He has worked for both public sector and private sector agencies in the Atlanta area and, as a result, possesses the experience and skill set to achieve realistic and implementable planning solutions. He has received his professional certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners. Aaron earned his Masters of City Planning from Georgia Tech, with a specialization in Urban Design. He received his Bachelor of Art in Urban Studies from University of South Florida.
