Chamblee Zoning Re-Write
Work involved updating the Chamblee Zoning Ordinance, which was last updated in 1982. The existing code was out-dated and confusing due to years of revisions and amendments. The new code is a smart growth zoning document that regulates uses, densities, heights, yards, parking, open space, sidewalks, street trees, signage and urban design elements per each zoning district. The new code incentives additional open space, lower parking ratios, mixed use development, and quality urban design components. This new code also facilitates economic development by being easy to read, easy to understand and easy to develop under.
