English Avenue Community Redevelopment Plan Update

Update to redevelopment plan Initiated by the neighborhood association, community development corporations, the City of Atlanta Bureau of Planning, and the Atlanta Development Authority. Our work involved the land use and zoning portions of the plan, as well as providing a cursory market perspective. Recommendations for the plan called for creating new mixed-use districts along the corridors that form the periphery of the English Avenue neighborhood. In addition, the heart of the neighborhood is to be a single family district with detailed design regulations that will preserve its historic character and ensure that new infill matches the existing character. Smaller neighborhood commercial nodes and multi-family townhome nodes are scattered throughout the neighborhood in places where the neighborhood envisioned them being. All of the recommendations were generated by, and supported through, a series of public meetings and workshops.
